It is a very good school. My son which is 6 years old was really happy to learn to ski. The teacher Valentin was great. We will go back next year to continue the next level.

Avoid this place! The management here is more keen for your money than for taking interest in providing honest service. The management reassured us of ski conditions for beginners as part of a package that included half day lessons, rentals and passes.... Conditions did not allow for ski which we only learned of after going up to ski station. Even after discussions, management took no responsibility and didn't seem to care. Beware, management focus to take your money more than providing an honest and good service to its customers. I give 1 star because the gent Ian at rentals was very honest and he was helpful. That's less than I can say for management. It really felt we were robbed... Of money but Most importantly of our time

Thrilling way to experience Grindelwald and its beauty. I signed up a basic course mountaineering level 1 in August 2018 with Grindelwald sports based on reviews and reputations. Two days course were very informative and were running both in DE/EN. Although I had a bit of experience of climbing/mountains before, I wanted to learn properly on ice before I climb up high mountains and gain more knowledge. There were newbies to climbing, but they have no problems and happy challenges. My guide, Ralph, was totally pro, and explained everything including the history of glaciers around Grindelwald. The first day climb was simple in the beginning and for those that wanted a bigger challenge they set up a tough climb with hiking boots on, not climbing shoes. I had a brief idea how I have to set up myself on high mountains. Also we learned how to knot and secure myself. The second day we were hiking to the glacier and then learned how to walk on crampons and use the ice axe. It was challenging, but really interesting and fun. I definitely recommend any of you out there reading this review. I'm also happy to make new friends here who are as enthusiastic as me. So we formed our group and already have done a trip to Aletsch Galcier hiking and also planning to do Mönch. The service was very good in the shop and you can rent anything you need for your trip. I love my new experience and I found the company just great!

Had one session of group ski lesson today. I have no experience so it was the starter pack. They split us up in two groups. I have to say I ended up with a friendly bunch and the instructor was really patient and helpful. I recommend them as a beginner.

My husband, myself, and our two kids (ages 6 and 7) recently used Grindelwald Sports for rentals and ski school during our trip to Switzerland and had an amazing experience with them! We got checked in very quickly and were even able to buy our ski passes from their front desk! We were fitted with our ski equipment in no time and all ready to go before 9 AM. We met our kid's ski school instructor, Klara, for a private half-day lesson at the shop, and she could not have been kinder! We loved chatting with her about her own travels, and our kids immediately felt comfortable with her. We walked over to the bus station that took us to the Bodmi beginners area. My husband and I watched them for a bit then headed up the mountain for a date morning on the slopes (what a luxury while traveling internationally with kids and not something we get to do often). We chose to do the lesson on our arrival day since kids ski free in this region on Saturdays. However, since our kids were going on about 4 hours of sleep, this probably wasn't the best choice in retrospect! Klara, however, was so patient with them. We've realized with ski lessons that sometimes it clicks with kids after the fact. The instructors put in the hard work of building the foundation and may not see a ton of improvement, but once the foundation is built, they improve so quickly! I wish she could have seen our kids a day or two later skiing down the whole mountain SAFELY and with confidence! This company offers so many more activities that we wished we had more time to explore. However, from start to finish, everyone there was so sweet with our kids and helped make our first day in Switzerland so wonderful!

I had no experience at ski at all, this is my first time! I took two ski classes here on different days(both group class). First day with instructor Tommy, he’s really nice and patient, taking care of everyone in the class. Divide people in groups by level, so no one getting too much or getting bored. I had a very fun day! Second day I join another class, instructor was Walter, this is how my nightmare start! We had no warm up start straight away! And apparently I am way behind other two students, but he insist we are doing the same thing. I tried to talk to him but he wasn’t listen. Bad attitude and bad English. And when he is teaching, I can barely hear him. If you are beginners, better choose other one give you class. This guy has no patient for you. By the way, everyone in the shop is super nice! Especially those who help me rent all the gears!

Grindelwald sports kept in communication with us before the holiday started, putting us at ease that they had everything organised. Tim in the shop organised our rental gear and had a laugh with us before we headed up the hills. We had a great time learning, the only thing that tainted the day was an incident when the instructor (Kristin) got impatient with my wife because she couldn't manage what was being instructed. She was meant to feel that she was holding the rest of is back and she stopped skiing. This changed our day significantly. Grindelwald sports are 5 star, I don't want impact on them but patience by instructors to all levels of ability is required. Take it from me I know. Warwick Smith British Olympic Team
